FRESH TEAM
Outdoor
1/2 day
Hinterland of Cannes and Nice
8 to 200 people
This refreshing activity puts an end to the belief that team building must be accompanied by a team challenge.
In fact, this activity does not involve counting points or assessing performance in order to reach a ranking with a reward.
And yet, after the invigorating experience of “fresh team”, your team will emerge much more united than many “classic” team building programmes.
The principle is simple: your group takes a playful route through a wild and unspoilt environment, namely a wild canyon, walking, swimming, jumping and sliding, supervised by mountain guides who will ensure your safety.
By sharing an extraordinary experience that each of us would never have been able to achieve on our own, team spirit is naturally strengthened.
In the end, it’s the whole team that wins, having achieved the simple objective of sharing authentic sensations in the heart of nature: the very essence of team building.
The hinterland around Nice, Cannes and Monaco is a treasure trove of canyons.
Straight out of the mountains, at altitudes of over 3,000 metres on the edge of the Mercantour National Park, these canyons are by definition narrow and steep-sided, and are still protected from pollution and over-frequentation by man. Here, nature reigns supreme because it is still wild. Whether the canyons are made of immaculate white limestone rock, or very red in other places, the atmosphere is never the same, but the feeling is always magical: everyone has the impression of discovering a faraway land, even though Nice, Cannes or Monaco are only a few dozen kilometres away.
The purity of the water, the beauty of the vegetation and the reflections of light on the walls are all part of the natural ‘scenery’ that contribute to the success of the activity. Our guides are on hand to provide safety and supervision, but also to raise participants’ awareness of the need to protect the surrounding flora and fauna. It’s a fun, sporting and rewarding way to raise awareness of one of the challenges of sustainable development.
Whether it’s “aquatic trekking”, i.e. accessible to as many people as possible, or real canyoning, with obstacles to overcome and highly specialised safety equipment, the activity can be adapted to suit all levels of fitness and duration.
The diversity of canyons in the Alpes Maritimes offers a range of possibilities that it is impossible to detail here.
However, let’s take a moment to look at the aquatic trek, the most frequently proposed activity for groups looking for a team-building activity.
Water trekking is the lighter version of canyoning, as it involves discovering a truly generous and authentic natural environment by walking or swimming along a small river, without harnesses or ropes, but wearing a neoprene wetsuit and a helmet to protect you from shocks and the relative coolness of the water.
The Rivière du Loup in the Cannes hinterland, for example, lives up to this reputation in its gorges. It is fairly short and has only a slight gradient. After a short walk, there is a regular succession of jumps, natural slides, swims and footpaths in the cool, clear water, making for an invigorating and fun descent.
All the obstacles can be bypassed, so everyone can experience the thrill of the river at their own pace and with no group constraints.
