What sport can improve team spirit in the workplace?
Working on the cohesion of a team is a decisive practice in improving its performance in order to help it achieve its goals.
Nurturing and developing team spirit means being able to count on motivated employees who are in line with the group’s objectives and, more generally, those of the company.
Relationships between employees can often be limited, and team building is a fantastic way for employees to really get to know each other, and sometimes resolve tensions or overcome preconceptions.
Sport remains the most popular activity for team building, particularly because of the values of solidarity, discipline and team effort that it implies. Here are the sports to prioritise as part of an effective team building project.
Running
Running is one of the most popular sports for training employees and organising a suitable course that is both fun and stimulating. In this context, the obstacle course, with the possibility of organising a treasure hunt or a quest of some kind, can be an excellent way of putting colleagues in a situation and reinforcing team spirit outside the company framework by mobilising values such as organisation, mutual aid and taking the initiative.
Team sports
Team sports are also very popular for team building activities because, as the name suggests, collaboration between all the participants in a team is fundamental to its success. At the moment, one of the most popular sports for this purpose is football, and more specifically jorkyball, which is ideal if you have a small team, since the maximum number of players is four against four. In the same vein, sports such as basketball and rugby are just as popular and well-loved as football.
Water sports
Water sports are particularly effective for summer team-building activities. Canoeing, rafting and rowing are excellent sports for developing team cohesion, and you can even go one step further by hiring a frigate, which will enable your employees to learn how to pilot a boat synchronously and thus greatly promote cohesion between team members.
